«Meet the Team»: Katrin Bungener

Welcome, Katrin ☀️

Whether on her way to the office listening to «NZZ Quantensprung» and «NZZ Akzent» or out in the mountains: Katrin enjoys gathering perspectives – linguistically in five languages (plus one imaginary language on top). Her closeness to nature has shaped her outlook: for her, sustainability means responsibility. With experience in sales as well as in project, partner and marketing environments, she now brings her expertise to Sustainable Switzerland to further develop the Circle Community & Events with impact.

Something interesting about you?

I speak five languages – some better than others. And if you count the imaginary language I invented as a child with my best friend, it’s actually six.

What are you passionate about?

I love being outdoors in nature – in the mountains or by the lake. Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes never cease to amaze me. Whether hiking, swimming or skiing, that’s where I recharge – and the view is often the best reward. This close connection to nature also shapes my outlook: for me, sustainability is a responsibility. Preserving our valleys, lakes and glaciers truly matters to me – for us and for future generations.

Half full – with room for a refill.

What was the first job you wanted to have as a child?

As a child, I wanted to be a supermarket cashier. I was fascinated by how everyone seemed to leave lots of money at the checkout – to me, it looked like a pretty good business model. At some point I realised how value creation actually works – and I’ve stayed true to the topic ever since. Through roles in sales as well as in project, partner and marketing environments across different industries, with a focus on sustainability, I’ve learned how to successfully bring together people, ideas and interests.
