Further education creates opportunities
Career paths are becoming less and less linear. People change industries, take on new responsibilities, return after a break or discover interests that had no place in their previous career. Further education creates space and direction for this. It enables new encounters, sharpens one’s profile and helps to develop new opportunities from experience.
The biannual focus on «Further education» in the «Neue Zürcher Zeitung» takes up this topic. The next issue will be published on 20 November.
Independent expert insights form the foundation of the editorial content. At the same time, companies and organizations are invited to position themselves thematically with guest contributions. These special features, which appear in «Neue Zürcher Zeitung» or «NZZ am Sonntag», are not produced by the editorial team but by our in-house storytelling service: NZZ Story Lab.
Possible topics:
- Why we need further education now more than ever – a plea for curiosity, agility and intellectual independence
- Am I still in the right place? – A questionnaire for personal and professional self-assessment
- What would you learn if your CV did not matter? – Surprising answers and the courage to be a beginner again
- A change of perspective – People attend a further education programme outside their previous field of work
- Three people, three fresh starts – Portraits of career changers and returners, such as those switching to a career in the police
- Which further education is right for me? – Finding your way between CAS, MAS, professional certificate, course and self-study
- Further education that makes a difference – How to assess the quality, value and recognition of a programme
- The next step in your career – From specialist to manager and from senior management to the board of directors
- Communication as a key competence – Negotiating, presenting yourself and resolving conflicts constructively
- When experience counts – Recognising existing competences and shortening training pathways
- Learning within the company – Internal academies, mentoring, job rotation and new responsibilities
- Time and money for education – Sabbaticals, study leave, financing and the question of return on investment
