Through in-depth reports, analyses, and features, «NZZ Residence» explores unique architectural and design concepts. Published four to five times a year, the magazine is included with «NZZ am Sonntag» and, under the title «Immobilier», with the Geneva-based newspaper «Le Temps». It focuses on exceptional architecture, exclusive high-end properties, and the latest trends in interior design and home furnishings from renowned designers and manufacturers. This issue’s theme: «Stylish hideaways in the mountains».
Architectural and interior design features
- Feature 1: Craftsmanship and the scent of pine – Carpenter Ralph Steiner has built a contemporary wooden house in Val Müstair. This retreat blends stylishly into the Alpine landscape, with its architecture and construction reflecting a love of detail and the art of craftsmanship.
- Feature 2: 650 square metres and yet a chalet – Interior designer Michela Chiavi combines tradition and modernity in this house in Graubünden. Stone, wood and numerous details have been used to create an authentic retreat that offers a contemporary interpretation of Alpine architecture.
- Feature 3: A design gem with over 300 years of history – Reto Holzer, Zurich’s star hairdresser with Valais roots, transformed the over 300-year-old «Michelhaus» in Ernen (VS) into a design gem. Historic floors, giltstone stoves and modern furnishings blend together to create two stylish holiday apartments that perfectly combine tradition and contemporary aesthetics.
