Journalistic concept
«Creative transformation from old to new»
With features, reports and analyses, the magazine «NZZ Residence» focuses on distinctive architectural and design concepts. The magazine for property and living is published five times a year as a supplement to the «NZZ am Sonntag» and, under the title «Immobilier», also accompanies the Geneva daily newspaper «Le Temps». «NZZ Residence» places its emphasis on exceptional architecture and exclusive properties in the premium segment, as well as on current living and interior solutions by renowned manufacturers and interior designers. Focus of this spring edition: «Creative transformation from old to new».
Architectural and interior design features
- Feature 1: Sensitive restoration of a manufacturer’s villa
Architect Naomi Hajnos has renovated an old manufacturer’s villa on Lake Zurich with great sensitivity and respect for the original building fabric. The historic house, which has been in the family for several generations, has been skilfully adapted to meet contemporary needs. The result is an elegant residence that continues the family’s story with charm and atmosphere. - Feature 2: Natural stone and a new beginning
Above Lake Maggiore, nestled within the historic village fabric of Brissago Piodina, a characterful house with its own vineyard has been thoughtfully reimagined. By relocating the living areas to the lower ground floor and opening them up towards the garden, a surprising sense of spaciousness has been created, enhanced by an intense flow of natural light. - Feature 3: Nordic elegance meets cosmopolitan esprit
Danish interior architect Stine Hollesen has transformed her grandmother’s 1895 apartment in Copenhagen into a vibrant Art Deco universe rich in colour. During the renovation, the historic architecture was thoughtfully reinterpreted, skilfully combining Scandinavian clarity with international sensuality.
