Journalistic concept
«Enchanting winter atmosphere»
With features, reports and analyses, the magazine «NZZ Residence» focuses on distinctive architectural and design concepts. The magazine for property and living is published five times a year as a supplement to the «NZZ am Sonntag» and, under the title «Immobilier», also accompanies the Geneva daily newspaper «Le Temps». «NZZ Residence» places its emphasis on exceptional architecture and exclusive properties in the premium segment, as well as on current living and interior solutions by renowned manufacturers and interior designers.
Architectural and interior design features
- Feature 1 – New life in the second-oldest house
In Andermatt (UR), the renowned Tuckey Design Studio has breathed new life into the historic «Nossenhaus», dating from 1620. With great sensitivity to local building traditions and the existing historic fabric, the architects transformed the village’s second-oldest building into a cosy, modern holiday home. The result is a successful interplay of traditional craftsmanship, Alpine warmth and contemporary living comfort. - Feature 2 – Light wood and modern clarity in the Grisons mountains
In Morissen (GR), a modern timber house has been created that perfectly combines a bright aesthetic with Alpine comfort. Large panoramic windows bring the mountain landscape directly into the living space, while natural wooden surfaces, flowing transitions and a pared-back design language create a light-filled, welcoming atmosphere. A contemporary retreat in the Grisons that shows exemplary how modern timber construction can feel timeless and inviting. - Feature 3 – Scandinavian warmth in cedar wood
Designed by architect Daniel Berg, the «Cedar Wood House» on a peninsula in Sweden blends harmoniously into the snow-covered natural landscape of heathland and forests. Nestled among pine trees, the sustainable property is defined by fine cedar wood and natural stone. A stylish architectural masterpiece that radiates an enchanting Scandinavian winter mood through timeless materials, passive light management and cosy interiors.
